Nature is a powerful creator, untouched by man. It is an inherent need to capture the purity of nature’s aesthetic, which consequently brings it into the realm of man-made materialism. My love of nature is only defined by my exploration of it, avoiding scientific research that does not interest me as much as the visual observation and perception of its existence and processes.
My latest paintings focus on the organic, untouched aspects of nature. I play with nature’s tools, taking hints from visual cues and basic elements of the natural world. Some harness a skewed perspective to the brink of alienation, usually by manipulating multiple key features. However, certain inherent hues and textures in nature are captivating enough that they do not need to be highly embellished. Initial reactions to the imagery guide my instinct with the decisions of metamorphosis, or stasis, of each subject.
